Car sellers bid for your bucks
By Daniel Dasey
A NEW auction website will allow car buyers to purchase new vehicles at up to
15 per cent below their recommended price, its creators say.
Sydney finance graduates Lachlan McPherson and Greg Taylor plan to pit car
deafens against each other in a reverse auction, where the dealer with the
lowest price gets the sale.
They hope their site, www.betterdeal.corn.au,
will clock up about 200 sales in its first week of operation, beginning
tomorrow.
Both rowers in the Australian men's eight, the pair are aiming their business
primarily at young females.
"Instead of them having to jump in the water with the sharks they can throw
their money in the water and have the sharks fight over it" Mr Taylor said.
Buyers pay 10 percent commission on any saving achieved below the recommended
price.
