Mazda 3 MPS

Mazda 3 MPS Hatch Manual

Mazda 3 MPSMove over WRX, there’s a new boy on the block. The Mazda 3 MPS looks like any other Mazda hatchback. However to the trained eye people will notice the MPS badging on the car. It has been fitted with a turbo powered 2.3L engine pumping out 190kW through front wheel drive.

Not only is the MPS incredibly fast but also very practical. The car is large enough to carry five passengers comfortably and do the grocery shopping all at once.

Once you have finished the shopping its time to have some fun with the car. Plant the right food and feel the turbo kick in, thrusting you deep into your seat. One of the downsides is the torque steer from the front wheels, leaving you with a feeling of almost being a passenger.

The 3 MPS comes only in a manual hatchback, with the option of a Sports Pack for an additional $3700. This features high gloss alloy wheels, xenon headlamps, premium sounds and a combination of leather and cloth seats. Performance remains the same for both models.

Mazda 3 Dealers

Many of the Mazda dealers are quite excited about this addition to the already strong selling Mazda 3. Since hitting the market there has been a lot of clients trading in their WRX to the MPS. One of the major advantages of the MPS is the cost of insuring is in many cases substantially cheaper because of the WRX is one of the most popular cars amongst thieves.

For all of those thinking of buying a WRX, do yourself a favour and test drive an MPS.
